Tis the Season!!

Well, Thanksgiving has now passed,
and we have Christmas just around the corner...
yikes (it always sneaks up on us so quickly)!
Today, I'm sharing a card that I made for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge
this week called "Tis the Season"!

I wanted the red poinsettia to really pop out, so I placed it on top of the largest
Tags 1 die, and added some holly leaves and pine branches!

Tucked a tiny Felicity doily behind the coved rectangle die.
I also layered a few different French Flair dies and added
the beautiful Mesh border die right on top of the blue paper!

List of dies I used:

Come play along in this week's  Cheery Lynn Design challenge
with other Cheery Lynn friends!!!
The winner that is chosen will receive $20 towards
shopping at the Cheery Lynn website!!
I always love to see what you all create...see yo there!

Cheery Lynn Designs New Release!!

Hope you are enjoying all the fabulous projects showcasing

I'm excited to share this project with you today....
My inspiration comes from the AMAZING new Shuttered Window w/Flower Box die!
I love the way you can ever so slightly open the little shutters...
The top of the window frame as well as the flower box both have
a bit of dimension to them...gotta love that!!!

The window has been popped up using my pop dots...
and is framed with the new Daphne Doily!!

and built an array of flowers popping right out of that flower box!!
Also, I added a little sparkle of glitter to the center of each flower!

Even the little mini butterfly has a tiny flower added!
Lastly, I hung a Tag #1 w/sentiment to my crinkly ribbon!

Here's a list of all the Cheery Lynn Designs dies that I used on my project:

Enjoy your day!

Friends with Flair!!

Hi there friends! I just couldn't resist making another project to share today,
using another one of Unity's CHA Summer 2012 releases!
This one is a Unity-Bella Blvd itty bitty, that caught my eye...she's such a cute lil hippo!
Look at those kissie lips!

I love shaped cards...I really really do!  So, I had to pair the stamp up with this
fun shape Silhouette die (nested tag frames by Alaa K) I used for the card frame!
It's a nesting frame, with so many sizes to choose from!
Papers are from Pink Paislee - Vintage Vogue!

Here's the little sweetie, in case you want to buy her!

Art Journaling - Let Your ART have Wings!!

I'm excited to share my first Art Journal page that I made this weekend while cropping with my friends!
I just love all the vibrant and rich colors of the Dylusion Sprays!  Playing with my Dylusion's Stencils and Crafter's Workshop Stencils and sprays was so addicting!  If you'd like to pick up sprays or stencils, check out Scrap-Mart to grab some and try!  Did you know that Scrap-mart also carries Mixed Media type products (inks, sprays, stencils, stamps, mixed media products)... as well as a vast array of other products!!

I used my new set of Caran D'Ache Neocolor II Watersoluble Crayons to add shading, used to color the flowers and handrawn birdie, and I even pulled out some of my   to add slight shimmer to the top of the little birdie.  The center of the flowers are Stickles for a little glitz effect!

You'll also notice that I wet embossed the stenciled circles on the heart and also the butterflies in white!  There are different stamps sets from Unity Stamp Co Hero Arts, 7 Gypsies, Pink Paislee, and Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi.  I've been aching to use these sets for way toooo long!!  Because I really loved the way the sprays mixed so easily, I cut up 3 big circles to highlight the amazing effects of the sprays...along with some of the stencil work!

My girlfriend helped me with the quote for my first journal page.  She was reading off quotes from stamps sets to me, and this quote really resinated with me.  Seemed appropriate, as I have truly fallen for yet another artsy passion....art journaling.  I knew I'd fall for it, and it's really peaked my attention to it even more!

The music notes make my heart sing...especially with this saying...

I know...me and my dimension...I snuck just a little bit of it by having parts of the flowers lifted and the rest adhered to lay beneath the birdie!

Well, that's it for today!  I will be back to post another Mixed Media project that I made this weekend!  It's a canvas inspired by "Taking Flight"!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Faerie Marcie in her Butterfly Garden!

Happy Monday!  It's time for another Inspirational Monday at La-La Land Crafts!  This week, it is "Make Your Own Paper/Chipboard Embellies"!  How fun...right?

My card features a new Summer CHA La-La Land Crafts stamp - Faerie Marci!  I paired her up with Pink Paislee "Butterfly Garden" papers, which really inspired me to have this sweetie flying around in her butterfly garden!

The handmade embellies I made today are the rolled flower & the glossy butterflies!  The rolled flower was topped with some Stickles for extra sparkle and to match the inside of Marci's wings!
Then, the two butterflies, all a flutter, were just cut from the designer paper, and then topped with Glossy Accents! Pretty simple, and yet...I adore the texture it adds to the card!  If you look closely, Marci's crown jewels and her sweet little diamond on the necklace have been texturized with Glossy Accents!

A few die cuts I used were Spellbinders and My Favorite Things!  The flourishes were distressed ink with "olive green", then cut apart and tucked all around Marci to give a whimsical feel!

By the way, just a sweet little reminder...  There's time to enter La-La Land Crafts Birthday Contest for this sweeeeeeeeet prize:

You can still enter the contest even if  you don't have a blog..yay!!  You can upload your photos to Photobucket and post that link to the blog.   And, for those who do not have Marci or Luka stamps,

National Scrapbooking Day with Unity Stamp Co!!

Unity is celebrating National Scrapbooking Day!  All the designer's have created 8x8 recipe layouts using Unity Stamps, picture of the dish prepared, and recipe for their dish!!  It's one awesome gift for one LUCKY WINNER!!  We are linking you up at the Unity Blog, so make sure you check out all of the recipes!  You're gonna love them!!

So, the dish I prepared for my recipe layout  is "Spinach with Honey Balsamic Chicken"! Actually, it's a recipe that my husband created, dish he cooked, and presented in this photo!  I just can't take credit, but for just taking the photo!  I do know he totally got into this and loved sharing his recipe.  I can tell you though, it is super delish with a sweet and tangy taste, and I hope the winner will enjoy making it too!  It's quite easy and quick to make!

The designer papers I used are from the "Hometown Summer " collection by Pink Paislee
I created a machine-stitched pocket (yellow paper), where you see the recipe tab peeking out.  Just pull up the tab, to reveal the recipe for the ingredients and cooking directions!

The Unity Stamp set I used is a Unity/Samantha Walker Co-Brand set called "Home Baked"!  I love Samantha Walker designs in this set!!  Perfect when you have a food gift you've made, or even purchased, or have a recipe to share that's home baked!!  If you are interested in picking up this set, just click on the stamp set photo below!!
