Love for the Snowman!!

Have you ever been so inspired that you immediately just need to try and make something crafty yourself?  Well, that happened to me when I found a sweet "Chipboard Snowman"  created by Anna Wright!  I just fell in love with so much on her blog, but 'specially the snowman she created.  Thought...have to try and make one of them myself, and a couple of other ornaments that I found on her blog!

Needless to say, I only accomplished making these this morning! Having the day off, and getting to get up early to create was definitely fun times for me!  I got a little crazy and made six different snowmen using a few different Silhouette die cutting files designs by Samantha Walker (Merry Christmas Card print and cut), and Lori Whitlock (Folk Heart & Star, 4 Christmas icons)!

The music sheet stamp I used for my snowmen are from the "Festive Sounds" set by Tim Holtz!  All the elements are Silhouette dies, and everything has been distressed inked instead of using any designer papers!  You'll see some crackle, glossy accents, thick glitter, & glitter icicles have been used.  Each snowman has been layered twice, to add some stability to his body.   This is what ya do when you still do when you have no metal die to cut out chipboard to back him up...works just as well!!  Click on each to see close-up details!

The photos above were taken before I adhered a piece of jute to each snowman for hanging onto the Christmas tree!  I think they'd be awfully cute on a card, project, gift bag or gift tag as well, if an ornament isn't your desire!

This little snowman is shown hanging with the lights shining bright (you can the tree right through the star)!  You'll notice I embedded a primitive star to the center body of the snowman, so it would be cut out.  I then, added some glitter icicles to the center of two pieces of clear sheets and glued those pieces together.  Then, I took that embedded piece of glitter icicle and sandwiched it between the front and back sides of the snowman, and glued that snowman front/back side together...so you can see right through that star cut out.  The photo doesn't capture the real beauty of what it looks like in real life!

My ideas keep swirling on how to decorate these little guys, but I just had to stop and get other stuff done today!  Perhaps, another time for making other tree ornaments, or just hand-made embellishments to go on top of the gift cards holders I need to decorate will be next on my crafty to do!

Warmest Winter Wishes!! (Tim Holtz/Oct Afternoon)

Hello there!  Posting a sweet Kraft tag that I put together about a week ago.  Almost forgot to post it to share with you!   Had fun using stains, inks, dies, embossing folders, and machine stitching to put this together!

My "Warmest Winter Wishes Christmas Tag" was made by using October Afternoon's "Holiday Style" collection Miscellany package and Tim Holtz products!  My inspiration was that vintage looking snowman!  I love him adorned with Tim Holtz dies. There's a tad bit of the music sheet stamp peeking from behind the image, and I certainly did not intend that to be hidden so much!  Nonetheless, I know it's there and still love the extra bit it adds!   Bottom of the tag has some embossing and I added a little jute, buttons, lace, and some glittery green/red twine that one of my girlie-friends gave to me!  Top part has been spritzed with Tim Holtz mist sprays, and the ribbon was stained with his distress stain and mist too!

Details: Tag - Warmest Winter Wishes
Supplies: Paper: October Afternoon (Holiday Style Collection); Designer Paper:  Tim Holtz (Distress Collection); Kraft Tag: Ranger; Embossing Folder: Stampin' Up; Distress Stains, Inks, & Mists: Ranger (Tim Holtz); Die Decorative Strip: Ranger (Festive Greenery)Jute: Michael's; Buttons: My Stash; Twine: My Stash; Music Background Stamp: Tim Holtz (Holiday Wishes); Lace: My Stash

Enjoy your day!  I need to still finish up some last minute shopping, and hope to make a couple of handmade ornaments for the tree..just for fun!!

Sweet Treats with Santa Marci!!

It's Saturday, and I sure hope you are enjoying your day!!  It may be a little early for Christmas...but I must say, after coloring in one of the newest La-La Land Crafts Stamps called Santa Marci, it's put me into the holiday spirit!!

I decorated this 3x5 kraft treat bag with peppermint stick candies!  I thought it would go well with the sweet baker's twine and that little peppermint candy I had waiting for me to use!!  You could actually fill the treat bag with anything, but I decided to choose peppermint sticks! During winter time, our family loves to dip peppermint sticks into hot chocolate! Yum!!

Because I wanted Santa Marci to take center stage, all I did was just use my Silhouette die cutting file (8 piece square stamp set- C01055-19210) designed by Samantha Walker as a background!  I did not have any solid red cardstock, so I decided to just cheat and use one of the red Copic markers to color the background!!  I love it because now the red matches exactly to Santa Marci's outfit!  Then,  I added some crystal glittter to Santa Marci's hat, dress, and to the top of her boots!!

Have fun creating and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  I am on my way to buy some new holiday music!!
