Inspiration Monday: Monochromatic!!

Hi there friends!  Ready for another La-La Land Crafts challenge?  This week it's all about 'MONOCHROMATIC'!!  I tell ya, I was a little intimidated at the challenge for this week...and, I'm not sure why 'cause I ended having alot of fun putting this card together!   I guess it was the decision on what color to choose!!

As I was sifting through my papers, the design paper by Webster's just sang to me, so I decided to go that soft yellow route highlighting the beautiful music sheet background!

All my favorite things on here...dies, flower, embossing, lace, ribbon, and bling...makes my heart sing!
I even colored the sweet kitty as a tabby cat...I wish I could squeeze him!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug - Victoria
Flower: Petaloo (Mulb. St. Mini Magnolia, Soft Yellow)
Rhinestone Embellishment: Zva Creative
Copics: Sketch Markers -

Hair: E31, E34, YR13, YR21

Inspiration Monday at La-La Land Crafts!

Oh goodness...it's Monday already!  I sure hope you had a great weekend..with the daylight savings time change, I admit that I surely was looking for that extra hour of rest this weekend! We are having another Inspiration Monday over at La-La Land Crafts today.  This week's challenge is to use the colors "mauve, white, and silver" on your projects.

For my card, I decided to emboss the entire background of the card.  The center area has been popped up with Zap dots, and a tiny scallop border runs below the top and bottom areas of the card base.

Ruffles Marci is wearing silver beaded earrings and silver necklace set...after all, a girlie needs her jewels when she's dressed fancy and all!  The beautiful handmade coffee filter flower was sprayed with my Glimmer Mists, and so were the die-cut leaves!  I added a silver wired-ribbon to the bottom area of the flower!

Imagine. Dream. Fly!!

I have a card to share with you using my Unity  October KOTM  - Faith, Hope, Love...Live by It"!!

I love the sentiment!  You'll notice on the sentiment is actually a phrase, but I decided to cut it up to use it more in a random fashion!  Not to fret though, I am still able to use it as a phrase 'cause all I need to do is reallign it back the way it came!

Details - "imagine. dream. fly" Card
Supplies - Stamp: Unity KOTM; Designer Papers: Lily Bee Design (Memorandum); Dies: My Favorite Things, Spellbinders; Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug; Ticket: Ranger by Tim Holtz; Distress Inks: Ranger by Tim Holtz

One AMAZING kit...One AMAZING cause!  Did you know that Unity will put $5 of this $35 kit will be put into a fund, and at the END of October the fund will be dispersed to families that are fighting the battle with Cancer. Unity will be splitting up the money collected to be sent in different directions and it will DIRECTLY help these families.  How AWESOME is that!!

Prince Luka - You're the Best!

Hello there friends!  Time for another Inspirational Monday at the La-La Land Crafts Blog!  This week we are featuring "embossing (wet or dry)" on our projects!

Sweet little Prince Luka is featured on my card today!  The black die cut behind him is a Silhouette die, and the center circle area is what I decided to emboss using my Big Shot!  I distressed inked the embossed area to make it really stand out!   As for  Prince Luka, he has been colored with Copics and in muted colors.

The card style is pretty simple, so that this sweetie would take the center stage! I thought that would lend well with the muted background papers. To add a little more dimension to the card, I added some gold brads to his cape, and then to the four corners of the card right on top of the machine stitching!  Pop dots are right under the black die and also right under the stamped sentiment!

Copics Used:
Hair: E49, E47
Skin: E000, E00
Crown: Y28
Boots & Belt: W3, W5, W7
Outfit: YG63, YG93, YG95, YG97

Have yourself a fabulous day!

H{ippity} Hop!

Hi there...hope you had a relaxing weekend!  Today's the 2nd week of our monthly {ippity} challenge, and we are talking "color challenge" today!

Using the {ippity} "Regal Greetings" sentiment "Missing You"!  The beautiful font lends to making a simply elegant card, so I went that route today!

For my card, I also decided to go all cardstock.  The back Core'dinations Essentials cardstock is already embossed with a slight raise, which I think compliments the center Bazzill paper that I embossed with my Cuttlebug folder.  I used the blue to accent the center, of the card and topped it off with a big Prima flower for a bold splash of color!

Here are all the details for the monthly {ippity} challenge!  I look forward to seeing what you create!!  Still time to play, so come on and create...

Next on the hop is  LISA ARANA who has made an awesome creation to share with you today!! Don't forget to check out all of the other participating blogs too...you'll find lots of great inspiration each and every week!!

Merry Christmas from Tuffy!

Sharing this card on the La-La Land Crafts blog today!  I have a sweet little greeting fromTuffy! He is wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

It was fun to make this scenic card featuring little Tuffy...he is so adorable!!  Tuffy's little doggie house has been decorated like a Gingerbread House, and he even has a tree popped out with Zapdots, and decorated for the season!  The background to this card has been embossed with a "Snowflakes" embossing folder to add some texture.  Finished it up with a brown/white ribbon, tied the blow and added a sweet sentiment that I typed on the PC with the Calibri font!

Details - "Merry Christmas" Card

Super Hero Luka - Have a Super Day!!

Sharing Star Boy Luka today on the La-La Land Blog, so thought I would share with my blog readers too!  He is one of the new Super Hero's you can find at La-La Land Crafts Store right now!!  Isn't he just the cutest & most brave little Super Hero you ever did see?  I just love his pose!!

Details - "Have a Super Day" 5 yr Birthday Card
Supplies - Stamps: La-La Land Crafts; Designer Paper: October Afternoon; Cardstock: Bazzill; Markers: Copics; Die Cuts: Silhouette (Star 0042 & Kapow C02666-1); Brads: My Stash; Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug (Herringbone); Number 5 Felt Sticker: Prima; 3D Zapdots: Helmar; Adhesiver 450 Runner: Helmar

When I saw him, I just knew he'd be perfect for my little nephew's "5th" birday..which is just around the corner!!  The background star shape is from my Silhouette, and so is the little "KAPOW" on the top right hand corner that highlights the number "5"!!  I raised it with Helmar 3D Zapdots, as well as the white background!

For some texture, I embossed the white background carstock with my Cuttlebug Herringbone folder!  Lastly, I added some little metal brads to the four corners of the card to make it a little more masculine!!   My little nephew's gonna have fun opening this card.  Once I tell him this is him as a Super Hero, I know he will have a little smile on his precious little face!!

Have a SUPER Day!

H{ippity} Hop - It's "OCT"!

Hello and welcome to another {ippity} hop!  Hope you had a relaxing weekend and got a chance to enjoy World Cardmaking Day!  If you haven't played any of the SCS Unity/ippity challenges, you still have some time..just check them out right here at the Unity Challenge Forum.

Today, I am sharing a card using the beautiful Crate Papers- "Restoration" collection!  For this week's {ippity} challeng IHHC44, Lisa's challenging us to use the following items that spell out "OCT"!  How fun!! "O" for old ; "C" for crinkly, and  "T" for twine!

The butterfly was cut from a Cuttlebug die and then sprayed with "Mimosa" Glimmer Mist!  Then, I took the  music sheet stamp from the {ippity} "Music of My Heart" stamp set, and stamped right onto the butterfly!  On top, I added a little coffe filter flower, button, and "twine" bow to the center of the butterfly.  The "crinkly" ribbon was tied in a double bow, and then two "old" buttons were added to the center of the ribbon bow.  The buttons are all from a jar of buttons I received from my Mom a long time ago! The sentiment is from the {ippity} "Just Wanted to Say" stamp set!

Supplies - Stamps: ippity; Designer Paper: Crate Paper (Recollections); Cardstock: Recollections; Crinkly Ribbon: My Stash; Glimmer Mist: Mimosa (butterfly) & Watermelon (ribbon); Distress Ink: Ranger Vintage Photo; Die Cut: Cuttlebug (Butterfly) & Spellbinders (Circles); Coffe Filter Flower: Handmade by Me; Buttons: My Stash; Twine: Michael's; Adhesive Pearls: Queen Bee; Border Punch; Recollections; Adhesive Runner: Helmar;

Unity Hop...You Deserve the Best!

It's Unity Hip Hop Day...and it's all about beautiful Michelle Ogdahl today!!  The ippity designers are all making cards to celebrate our sweet Michelle!!  I can't tell you how much we are all gonna miss her, and she will be sorely missed...but, today we celebrate our friend 'cause after all Michelle...

"YOU DESERVE THE BEST"!!

So, today I chose to work with the "You Deserve" ippity stamp set...

And, here's the sketch that I used! I kept pretty close to the sketch 'cause I really loved the design!!

I chose to work with American Craft designer papers because they remind me of Michelle with the soft and pretty face, gorgeous personality, and down right awesome gal!!  I surrounded the sentiment with some dainty rosettes and then added some pearls, crinkly ribbon and button, embossed the top part with my Cuttlebug folder, and came up with this!!

So, on with your hoppin' to check out the spectacular project Kelly has to share with you today!!  Have fun, enjoy, and I will see you later in the Forum to chat it up!  Come join us for chances to win prizes!

h{ippity} hop Monday...Let's Paint it Up!!

Hello there and happy h{ippity} hop Monday!  I am hosting this week's challenge at SCS, so I hope that you will come and play along too!  This week, I am challenging you to "add paint" to your project!

For my card, I decided to use one of my Textile Hearts Cuttlebug combo die cut/emboss set.  First I die cut the heart..then, I embossed it! Right after embossing, I gently rubbed pink paint right over the raised edges, as well as the edges of the heart! Once it was dry, I took my Tim Holtz Tea Dye Ranger Distress Ink and rubbed it all over the heart to make it look vintage.

The beautiful sentiment I used is from the NEW ippity Summer 2010 release "Quotes a'La Happy" set!  I used a copic marker to color in the heart and word "love"!  Added a couple of little ivory buttons with a criss cross stitch of DMC floss into the button.  Adhered the button onto the crinkly ribbon and that's about it!!

Eryn is hosting the IHHC33 ippity challenge this week, to make a project using TURQUOISE, YELLOW, plus ONE accent color of your choice!! How fun and what a fab color combo to work with..I must say!!

Being that these colors make me so happy, I thought using the sentiment from the "Just Wanted to Say " ippity stamp set would be one to match perfectly with these bright, bold, and cheerful colors!!

My card base is a cutting file from my Silhouette, and the flower has been spritzed with Glimmer Mist and sprinkled with glitter.  My Spellbinder circle has been handstitched in turquoise DMC thread.  There's a bit of embossing on the white strip, using my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
